FAQ

Common questions, answered

What documents do I need to get started?

Most individual filers need a W-2 and/or 1099s, a government-issued ID, and last year's return if you have one. Your dashboard shows a personalized checklist once you create an account, so you're never guessing.

How long does it take to get my return prepared?

Most straightforward individual returns are reviewed within 2–3 business days of all documents being uploaded. Business returns and more complex filings typically take 5–7 business days.

Is my information actually secure?

Yes. Everything is sent over an encrypted connection, access to your documents is role-based and limited to your preparer, and we're actively building our security program around the FTC Safeguards Rule requirements for tax preparers.

Can Tia file my taxes for me?

No — Tia answers questions and helps you gather the right documents, but every return is prepared and reviewed by a licensed human preparer before anything is filed.

Do you work with clients outside Delaware?

Yes, we prepare federal and state returns for clients nationwide, as well as U.S. citizens living abroad.
