These Terms & Conditions (Terms) outline the responsibilities, expectations, and limitations related to the tax return preparation services (Services) provided by Trust Tide Tax LLC. By engaging our services, the client (you or your) agrees to the following:

1. Scope of Services

We will prepare your individual or business tax return(s) based on the information you provide. Our services include:

  • Preparation and electronic filing of federal and/or state tax returns
  • Basic tax guidance related to information provided
  • Communication necessary to complete your return accurately

Our work does not include audit representation, bookkeeping, legal services, or year-round tax planning unless specifically agreed to in writing.

2. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely information required for preparing your tax return
  • Supply all necessary supporting documents (W-2s, 1099s, receipts, bank statements, prior year returns, etc.)
  • Respond promptly to clarification requests
  • Review your completed tax return carefully before approval and filing

We are not responsible for consequences that arise from incomplete, inaccurate, or late information provided by you.

3. Accuracy & Compliance

We prepare tax returns in accordance with applicable tax laws and professional standards.

However:

  • The final accuracy of the return depends on the information you provide
  • We do not guarantee tax refunds, credits, or outcomes beyond what tax laws permit

You are ultimately responsible for your tax return once filed.

4. Fees & Payment Terms

Fees are based on the complexity of your return and services requested.

  • Payment is due upon completion of the return and before filing, unless otherwise agreed
  • Additional services (amendments, audit support, bookkeeping, tax planning) may incur separate fees
  • Non-payment may delay filing and result in penalties or interest from tax authorities
5. Filing Authorization

Your tax return will not be filed until:

  • You review the completed return
  • You sign the IRS or state e-file authorization forms
  • Full payment is received

Delays in approval or payment are your responsibility.

6. Confidentiality & Data Protection

We maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard your personal and financial information in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
Your information will not be shared with third parties except:

  • When legally required
  • With your written consent
  • As necessary to complete your tax return
7. Changes & Amendments

If you discover omitted or incorrect information after filing:

  • Amendments can be prepared upon request
  • An amended return is considered a separate service and may involve additional fees
8. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Penalties, interest, or additional taxes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide
  • Delays caused by your failure to provide requested documents
  • Outcomes resulting from changes in tax laws after filing

Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the preparation of your return.

9. Audit Support (If Included)

If audit assistance is included in your service package, we will provide guidance and support during tax authority inquiries.

If not included, audit support is available at an additional fee.

10. Record Retention

We retain copies of your tax returns and related documents electronically for at least 3 years.

You are responsible for keeping your original documents and receipts.

11. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel services at any time.

  • If work has already begun, you may be charged a partial or full service fee based on the work completed.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services for failure to provide documentation, non-payment, or inappropriate behavior.

12. Refund Policy

Once your tax return is prepared or filed, fees are non-refundable. Tax preparation fees are for the time, expertise, and work performed.

A refund may be offered/issued only if:

  • You paid for services before we began working AND
  • You choose to cancel before any work has started

In such cases, a partial or full refund may be considered.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state or jurisdiction in which our business operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Agreement

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
